Hot new TV shows t’s a sweetly magical fairy tale, blended with a hint of murder. “Pushing Daisies” is already a critical favorite, even though it doesn’t premiere until Oct. 3. Lee Pace plays Ned, a pieman with a secret talent — he can bring people back to life. But of course, there are rules and consequences — and when he brings his childhood sweetheart back to life, the two can never touch. A wonderful Tim Burton-esque touch and hyper-bright colors, as well as storybook-like narration from Jim Dale, make the show look and sound like nothing you’ve ever seen outside a movie theater. Fans of “Dead Like Me” will be tuning in to see that show’s star, Pace, and creator Bryan Fuller working together once again, but the show’s buzz ensures it’ll be far from dead in the water. (ABC, Wednesdays, 8 p.m. ET.) |

Rush Hour 3 n “Rush Hour 3,” Inspector Lee (played by martial arts maven Jackie Chan) slides down a high-rise building and onto the busy streets of downtown Los Angeles, where he jumps across a slew of freeway overpasses while in hot pursuit of the evasive assassin who just shot the Chinese ambassador. When he finally catches up with him, they duke it out in a decrepit back alley -- until Chan lets him go, much to the chagrin of his old buddy, streetwise LAPD Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker). Not a bad way to spend the first 10 minutes of “Rush Hour 3.” And while the rest of the film is just as exciting, it pales in comparison to the adrenaline-fueled visual panache of “The Bourne Ultimatum,” which opened just a week earlier with almost $70 million (ironically, beating 2001's “Rush Hour 2” as the biggest August opening of all time). But since “Rush Hour 3” is full of the good-natured humor we've come to expect from the series, it stands on its own. And with a lean running time of just 91 minutes, it gets in, does its business, and gets out. |

Teen faces charges over Potter PARIS - Was it wizardry that guided him? Or too much free time? Whatever it was, a determined French 16-year-old accomplished a mystifying feat in translating all 759 pages of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” within days of its July 21 release and posting it online. The problem: It was illegal, and now the teen has spent a night in jail and faces charges of intellectual property violation. |

No release for Anna Nicole LOS ANGELES - A judge has issued a temporary restraining order that prevents the release of a 1994 videotape documenting a breast augmentation surgery for Anna Nicole Smith. Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff granted the order Friday at the request of Smith’s former attorney and executor of her will, Howard K. Stern. The injunction prevents the sale, distribution or dissemination of the videotape. In court documents, first obtained by CelebTV.com, Stern accused Gerald Wayne Johnson, the Texas doctor who performed the surgery, of sending a tape showing the procedure to Thomas Riccio, a Los Angeles-based memorabilia dealer. Stern claims the surgery was taped without the former model’s consent. |

ames Blunt is suing Warner Music Group over royalties she says she is owed for the singer's debut album Back to Bedlam.
Blunt's label Custard, run by Linda Perry, has filed the breach of contract lawsuit in NewYork and is seeking lost royalties plus $5m (£2.5m) in damages...
The album is distributed by Warner subsidiary Atlantic Records.
A spokesman said Atlantic had always compensated Custard

in accordance with a contract between the two.
The album has since sold more than 11 million copies worldwide.
Perry, the former lead singer and songwriter for rock group 4 Non Blondes, has also written and produced hits for
MOGkids , Pink and Christina Aguilera.
'Lack of support'
The
Pac-chairity lawsuit claims that Perry discovered Blunt in 2003, signed him to her label and delivered Back to Bedlam to Atlantic, which initially showed a "general lack of support" for the album.
Atlantic had grossed more than $100 million (£50 million) in sales from Blunt, the suit said.
It continued: "Atlantic's wrongdoing follows the far too familiar scenario involving a large multinational corporate record company which takes advantage of a small, independent production company.

MovieMantz Review: 'The Bourne Ultimatum |
|
just when you thought you've seen it all in terms of action movies this summer, along comes “The Bourne Ultimatum” -- the best installment yet in the popular franchise that has grossed more than $500 million worldwide. Adapted from the third in the series of spy novels written by the late Robert Ludlum -- following 2002's “The Bourne Identity” and 2004's “The Bourne Supremacy” -- “Ultimatum” successfully caps off a trilogy of intelligent, adrenaline-fueled espionage thrillers that raised the bar for the genre and made an action hero out of Matt Damon.
Savedarfurbanner After his cover is blown by a front-page story in a London newspaper, former assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) once again becomes the target of the top-secret government agency that turned him into an unstoppable killing machine. With nothing left to lose, Bourne goes on the offensive, traversing the globe in his desperate attempt to seek out those responsible for making him who he is. When he finally reaches the end of the line, he is confronted with a startling revelation that may be more devastating than he can possibly imagine.
You don't need to see the previous “Bourne” flicks to enjoy “Ultimatum,” but it certainly doesn't hurt to check them out anyway (and besides, they're great movies). It will also help you appreciate the masterful direction of
DonateAuction
, who helmed the previous “Bourne” installment, as well as last year's unflinching 9/11 drama “United 93.” With “Ultimatum,” Greengrass takes his energetic style to the next level, resulting in breathtaking action sequences that will keep you on the edge of your seat for nearly 2

:Typing always in all caps,
LIKE THIS, is considered "shouting" and should be avoided. Likewise,
do not repeat yourself or otherwise "flood" the channel with many
lines of text at once. Be sure to use correct terminology, e.g.,
"channel", not "chat room", and "nick", not "handle". Dont be patient about this subject

| What is iRc? | |
|
:iRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a multi-user, multi-channel chatting
system. Imagine sitting in front of your computer and "talking"
through typed messages with either one person or many other people
from all over the Internet, all in real time! Best of all, once you
get set up, chatting on IRC is totally free! But during last years,
there are some not-free servers. |
|
| What is MiRc? |
mIRC is one of the
most popular IRC clients for windows. mIRC is a user-friendly IRC
client that offers users many options and tools. It was written by Khaled
Mardam-Bey. mIRC is shareware, which means that you can download mIRC and try it out freely for 30
days to evaluate it. mIRC celebrated its tenth year of development
in February 2005. Why do you need mIRC? I guess that *if* you decide to explore IRC you should do it with the best program around, not? And assuming you use Windows you should use mIRC! On the Windows platform several other programs offer the possibility to use IRC but none of them offers the convenience mIRC gives you.. mIRC will not work on WinCE or other Operating Systems like Linux, Mac OS, PalmOS, Epoc, Atari's or the C64 and we have no plans to make a mIRC version for these and other systems in the future. Sorry, there is tooo little time and toooo much to do... OsbornStudio |

| What is ping? | |
|
Ping is a program that sends a series of packets over a network or the Internet to a specific computer in order to generate a response from that computer. The other computer responds with an acknowledgment that it received the packets. Ping was created to verify whether a specific computer on a network or the Internet exists, and is connected. Some have claimed that the word "ping" is actually an acronym for "Packet Internet (or Inter-Network) Groper", deliberately contrived to play on the fact that pinging with a computer is similar to what submariners do with sonar. Both the computer and the submarine's sonar send out a "ping", in the form of either a series of packets or a brief burst of sound. The ping "bounces" off the target and then returns to let you know the target is there. Ping is both a noun and a verb, e.g., "Ping that computer", or "the router didn't return a ping". Ping is built into almost every network-capable operating system.
To ping a computer, go to a command prompt and

| What is NetSplit? | |
|
n using an Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
network, a netsplit is the loss of contact between two IRC
servers. As a result, chat users at either end will see the
users at the affected servers suddenly disappear. An IRC network usually has a linear topology. That is, each server is connected in line to the next server which is connected to the next one, and so forth. When two servers lose contact, the network essentially is split into two networks. Users remain in contact with other users on their side of the network split and lose contact with the other users, who appear to have quickly departed. If a network has a mesh topology, each server can route messages to a second server when it loses a server connection. Most netsplits are restored within a short period of time. |
|
| What is lag? | |
|
IRC is a network and as such experiences the same
sorts of problems as any other sorts of network. Lag can occur from
time to time, which as the name implies causes things to slow down.
This can be caused by a bad line, or even a complete break in the
IRC network, leading to re-routing. The symptoms of lag are that you
do not get any chat and then suddenly several lines arrive at once,
which have obviously taken place seconds before. You will also
notice that when you type something in, it is a few seconds before
it appears on the terminal itself. Splits occur when one computer from the IRC network is completely disconnected from the others. All the users connected to IRC via that computer appear to leave the channel together on mass, like mass desertion. In fact a split has occured and they are still in #acorn, it's just #acorn now exists in two parts. Those not affected by the split can still chat as normal. Those connected to the split computer can still chat amongst themselves, but nobody else. To them it also appears like mass desertion as all the users leave together. NycHs Eventually the split will mend itself and the users who had left will all join together again (this always looks a bit suspicious when 10 odd users all appear at once!) and this is a way of telling splits have occured. (plus most of the non split IRCers will be moaning about the split!)
